Below, we explain how to enter the details for the product, tab by tab. Click Save regularly as you go along to save the details you have entered for the product. Then click Edit again to continue entering the details for the product.
Click Add on the right-hand side of the screen to add a new product.
Details
In this tab, you enter the recipe and can run reports to get a clear indication of the allergens present and how to declare them.
Fields with a red border are mandatory.
- Enter the name of the product
- Type the name of the recipe/ingredient and select the correct recipe/ingredient from the list of suggestions, or click ‘Search’ and select the correct recipe/ingredient from the list.
Once all details have been linked, click ‘Save changes’. The allergens table will then be generated with all linked data.
Allergens
On this page, the allergens are displayed in a colour-coded matrix.
The allergens are sorted by column, and the calculated values are shown. This calculation also takes the portion size into account
- The rows show the ppm values from the raw materials,
- The total ppm from the process,
- The total excluding moisture loss and the total including moisture loss.
- The standards are listed below that.
If you want to declare a specification in accordance with an applicable standard, I check the row to see which allergens I need to list and how:
The colour codes correspond to the values and how they must be displayed according to the standard:
Blue: Present; you must state that the allergen is present in your product and clearly highlight it in your declaration
Red: Above the standard; traces of the allergen are present above the permitted limit. You must state that the allergen is present in your product under ‘may contain’
Yellow: Below the standard; traces of this allergen can be found in your product, but these are below the standard and you do not need to declare them in any way.
Grey: Absent
Depending on the chosen reference value, you may therefore receive a different allergen declaration.
The allergen wheat is coloured yellow in the VWS (NL) 2024 (ED05).
In Vital 3.0 (ED01), it is red.
Depending on the regulations, the colour code is displayed differently and you must declare allergens differently on your product.
Actions
For actions, you can download a report using a template.
Select the desired template from the list. You can then choose whether the template should be downloaded as a PDF or a .doxc file.
PLEASE NOTE: If you wish to download a view of the cross-contamination tables, you can only do so by selecting a .doxc download.
This version of the table does not work with a PDF version. If you wish to share the file as a PDF, save it in Word as a .pdf file.
